Summary of Internship:
CLB Media, one of Canada's leading providers of business-to-business communications, is seeking a Copy Editing Intern to assist editorial staff on a group of publications by copy editing, proof reading, fact checking, and researching information. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in getting first hand experience in publishing.
The successful Intern will be currently enrolled in a journalism program or have a degree or diploma in journalism and some experience with writing or editing in a professional environment. Requirements include excellent grammar and spelling skills, knowledge of CP style, ability to properly verify information, and the desire to learn how a business-to-business publishing company produces content.
This internship requires approximately 15-20 hours of consistent commitment each week, and will run for 3 months.
Upon completion of a three month internship the Intern will be compensated with a $500.00 honorarium. In addition to the honorarium, each Intern will be eligible for a recognition award in the amount of $2,000.00. This award will be given to the Intern who demonstrates the most significant contribution to The Cartwright Group Ltd in the 2010 calendar year

Education:
- Completed or currently enrolled in a journalism program (M)
Experience:
- Practical experience with CP style (M)
- Experience writing, copy editing, or proofreading in a professional environment (P)
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
- Excellent command of the English language in both written and oral forms (M)
- Accuracy and detail-oriented editing skills (M)
- Comfortable working in a fast paced and challenging environment (M)
- Must work well with time restraints and prioritizing (M)
