Legislation Database Editor (4 Positions)

Contract Position: July 2010 - November 2010
Division / Program: Editorial and Production, Canada Law Book
Location: 240 Edward Street, Aurora
Reports to: Manager, Specialized Legal Publications

Summary of Responsibilities:
The Legislation Database Editor is responsible for:

  • Researching statutes and regulations.
  • Updating, tagging and maintaining statute databases for electronic and print products.
  • Liasing with internal staff throughout the process to communicate information, resolve problems to ensure deadlines are met.

Qualifications: (M) = Mandatory  or  (P) = Preferred

a) Education:
  • Completion of Post Secondary education (M)
b) Experience:
  • Experience with legal research (P)
c) Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
  • Excellent computer skills (M)
  • Excellent English grammar and language skills (M)
  • Ability to work under pressure (M)
  • Excellent time management, oral and written communication skills (M)
  • Organized and detail-oriented (M)
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and challenging environment (M)
